Vidya Daanam Sarva Daanam Pradhanam

The gift of knowledge is the greatest of all gifts.

न चोरहार्यं न च राजहार्यं

It cannot be stolen by thieves, nor seized by kings;

न भ्रातृभाज्यं न च भारकारी ।

nor divided among brothers, nor does it weigh us down.

व्यये कृते वर्धत एव नित्यं

The more it is spent in sharing, the more it always grows;

विद्याधनं सर्वधनप्रधानम् ॥

the wealth of knowledge is the greatest of all wealth.
